Formerly known as Atlanta Immersion. Now reimagined as ATL EXP - Atlanta Experimental Film Festival, Atlanta’s home for films that push form, story, and technique. This festival highlights experimental narrative, experimental documentary, mixed media, unconventional animation, avant-garde work, experimental horror and sci-fi, shorts built with new methods of AI storytelling and more.

Atlanta Experimental is for filmmakers who like to play, break rules, and try things that don’t fit inside traditional categories. The festival is a one day showcase built around curiosity and creativity. People show up ready to see something different, and the atmosphere makes it easy to talk, share ideas, and connect.

We screen experimental shorts, hybrid work, visual art pieces, AI driven films, movement based projects, abstract storytelling, and anything that pushes the form. If your film sits between genres or uses technique as part of the message, it belongs here.
